Inspired by the vast collection of papyrus, reed and linen artifacts in the Egyptian Wing of the MET, the Ann Gish Qasaba is named after a famous cobblestone street in Cairo. Qasaba elicits the texture and tone of the stones of Egypt, even the hatch marks on the papyrus fragment shown here.
